Drones Steal Limelight at Dolce & Gabbana Fashion Show

What became the talk of the town at Dolce & Gabbana’s recent fashion show in Milan wasn’t just the ornate designs of this season’s handbag collection but rather the models that walked or should I say, flew on the runway.

Italian Luxury

The Italian luxury fashion house is keeping up with the times and sent at least eight drones to carry their leather and jewel-encrusted handbags from the company’s latest Fall Winter 2018/19 collection.

The drones’ runway debut was accompanied by Kendrick Lamar’s latest song, ‘All The Stars’, while men and women wearing white lab coats walked alongside with remote controls.

The hi-tech fashion show apparently experienced quite a hiccup before it started. According to Associated Press, the show was delayed for 45 minutes as members of the audience were repeatedly asked to turn off their Wi-Fi, as well as any personal hot spots.

Each drone was embellished with fake gemstones to fit the occasion.

According to Business Insider, this wasn’t the first time the fashion industry tried to incorporate drones in their shows. In 2015, a clothing brand called Betabrand used drones to model its clothing in Silicon Valley.
