Step into a modern yet traditional Deepavali atmosphere at Publika for Publika Deepavali 2017 (2 – 22 October) with bright and contemporary decorations inspired by Pop Art. It is two-week cultural event that embraces both the cultural and contemporary Indian arts. This year, there will be exciting workshops ranging from cooking, art workshops, saree draping demonstrations and other family friendly activities. Visitors can also feast their eyes on the beautiful imageries captured in India at the ‘Colours Sing’ Photography Exhibition.

Wayang Kulit Performance

Galeri Petronas presents a two-day showcase of Wayang Kulit, a traditional puppet play hailing from the Malay Archipelago. RIUH’s Deepavali Weekend

Place: APW, Jalan Riong Bangsar

RIUH is a creative platform for pop-up stores, food, creative workshops, showcases and live acts. This weekend RIUH is hosting it’s very own Deepavali weekend. Exclusively for Deepavali, RIUH is collaborating with #SAREEONMOVEMENT for Interactive Kolum Making, Saree Tutorial, Live Saree Painting and Saree Showcase.  They will also host three workshops : art & science for kids by Atom & the Dot, phone photography to up your Instagram game by TTFGA and food art by the Rojak Projek. So come and bring your friends and family to enliven the atmosphere!

Slide The City

Place: Setia City Convention Centre

After a two year absence, Slide The City is back in Malaysia! They are bringing along a giant 1,000 feet-long water slide with family-friendly activities and a food carnival. The slide is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only; but don’t worry, your ticket grants you unlimited slides per day. MGACE 2017

Place: Evolve Concept Mall, Grand Pacific

Date: October 21 – October 22

Time: 11 AM to 7 PM

Admission Fee: RM 25

Arguably one of the biggest anime, manga and comic (ACG) events in the country, MGACE will be back for the fourth year running. This two-day convention will feature a host of activities such as cosplay competitions, music performances, video game tournaments and more. If you have some cash to spend, there will also be a list of vendors peddling all sorts of ACG-related products ranging from comic art to knick knacks.
