Not many have managed to accomplish what this Muslim Malaysian singer songwriter has done. From touring around the world to collaborating with big names in the music industry to stepping foot in the fashion world.
Yuna could might as well be wonder women!
This time her latest accomplishment is gracing the cover of a section of Vogue Arabia. It might not be the front cover, but it’s still a huge honor.
Yuna wears a hijab and a dress ensemble designed by Hatta Dolmat, a Malaysian designer. She has always worked close with Hatta Dolmat and have several times showcased his latest designs. No doubt, this cover is an accomplishment for both.
The cover donned the fitting title, “Hijabi Crush”as the headline. Vogue Arabia describes Yuna as a Muslim woman who proudly presents women and diversity on the global scene, while making music and breaking into international charts.
Yuna expressed her excitement in a series of tweets and an instagram post;
*I think i need to reiterate that this is NOT THE COVER of Vogue Arabia, it IS however the cover of the عدسةLens section in the magazine! before everybody gets too excited and gets the wrong idea and reports the wrong info.* — I’m over the mooooon! I’m in the July/August issue of #voguearabia, with @jourdandunn on the cover, and lil ol me on the inside 😍 featuring photography by @visionsthroughmyretina, dress by @hattadolmatofficial! Thank you @voguearabia this is so cool. Let’s do the actual COVER cover next time 😝you know i gotchu. Back in LA now, time to celebrate this with an iced latte! blessings blessings sharing this blessing to everyone ❤️
